Gary began his accounting profession working for the big 4 firms, immigrating to Canada in 1986 with Deloitte. After spending some time in industry as a controller, he joined Kurin and Partners. His clients cover a wide range of industries, with a focus on medical professionals, and he applies his considerable experience advising them on tax and financial planning, as well as business management.
Outside work Gary enjoys time with his family, playing chess golf and tennis, travelling, skiing and gardening.

Susan joined her husband Jack in 1983 to form the firm of Kurin and Partners. Surprisingly after working together for so many years, they are still happily married. In her 30 years of experience, Susan has assisted many owner managed businesses in the implementation and the proper use of an appropriate accounting system. Susan has also been a great sounding board for her clients and has assisted them in solving a variety of business issues.
When not working, Susan enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, travelling, playing table tennis and taking long walks.

Paul joined Kurin and Partners in 2015 after years in public practice as a partner, then sole practitioner, and some years in industry at a software startup. He has over 30 years of professional experience covering tax, assurance, business startup, acquisition, and estate planning.
In his spare time, Paul loves playing with his grade school twins, is an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, F1 and WSBK fan, and his hobbies include photography, martial arts, and target shooting.

Sakina obtained her BMath in Business Administration and Risk Management from the University of Waterloo. She joined Kurin and Partners in 2009, then earned her CPA, CA designation shortly thereafter. Through participating in and now leading engagements, she has gained extensive experience with the firm’s diverse client base.
Away from work Sakina enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants with friends, exploring Toronto, and is a Bikram hot yoga enthusiast.

After gaining valuable experience in a few large accounting firms, Derek joined Kurin and Partners in 2013. Derek has a wide range of experience in tax, consulting and assurance services, with a particular focus on healthcare professionals and owner managed businesses.
Derek particularly enjoys opportunities to offer management consulting to clients so they can better understand, manage and grow their business. When not at the office, Derek likes to play guitar and is an avid hockey fan.

Fabio holds a Bachelor of Administrative Studies Specializing in Accounting with Honours from the University of Guelph and has been a Chartered Professional Accountant since 2016. He joined Kurin and Partners in 2023.
His industry specialties include real estate rental properties, construction, medical professional corporations and investments.
Outside of work, you can find Fabio training martial arts, playing hockey and travelling with his wife.

Joy has over 15 years of experience as a bookkeeper for both not-for-profit and for-profit businesses. She is a certified QuickBooks desktop and online ProAdvisor, and certified Xero advisor, with a comprehensive knowledge of Sage and Wave accounting systems. Joy has helped a wide variety of companies implement, standardize and refine their payroll and bookkeeping processes.
When not in the office, she enjoys camping, organizing children’s programs in the community and spending time with her young family.

Leo has had experience working with personal tax for more than 5 years.
